You&#8217;ll help shape safe, sustainable lab practices aligned with our Climate Action Framework, while working closely with students and researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>About the role<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based in the Department of Architecture &amp; Civil Engineering, the Technical Specialist in Construction Material Science will provide expert technical guidance and support to facilitate research and teaching activities on materials science for construction materials, including adoption of existing guidelines and testing methodologies for studying a range of cementitious materials (Portland and non-Portland cements), as well as materials characterisation techniques and approaches to evaluate cement\u2019s properties.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This includes advising on the suitability of, and assisting with, the development of experimental protocols and procedures considering teaching and research needs. The post holder will also provide technical support for experimental equipment usage and maintenance, as well as supporting safe material procurement, handling, storage and disposal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will take a proactive role in ensuring high standards are maintained in the management of health, safety and compliance throughout the department.
