The Institute of Mechanics and Computational Mechanics welcomes applications for the following position starting December 1st, 2025: Research Assistant (Doctoral Researcher\/Postdoc) in the Area of Machine-Learning in Computational Mechanics (salary scale 13 TV-L, 100 %)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The position is initially limited to 3 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your role<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An independent research project in machine-learning for computational mechanics is waiting for you! With us, you will work on your scientific qualifications and benefit from the collegial exchange with our team of engineers with a wide range of focus areas. Your work in one of our current research topics will be complemented by your dedicated involvement in academic teaching in Civil Engineering study programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who are we looking for?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A prerequisite for employment is a completed scientific university degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in engineering with a strong focus on mechanics\/numerical mechanics (continuum mechanics, material modeling, finite element method, and machine-learning). Above-average academic performance is expected. A relevant completed doctorate is desirable for the postdoctoral position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, very good German and English skills are advantageous for teaching activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
