This is a full-time, on-site Doctoral Student position located in Wuhan, China, at Wuhan University. The Doctoral Student will be responsible for conducting research, attending seminars and conferences, collaborating with faculty members, writing high-quality research papers, and completing their dissertation. There are two vacancies. The research will be related to (1) AI-assisted non-destructive testing in rock masses and soils, and (2) application of the high-power microwave technique in the fracturing of rocks and strengthening of soils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vacancies: Two international students with full scholarships from the government. Outstanding students may also be eligible for an additional allowance to support their living and studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qualifications
l Strong research and analytical skills
l Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
l Ability to work independently and collaboratively
l Proficiency in relevant areas of study
l Experience in academia or research
l Time management and organizational skills
l Master’s degree in a related field
l Publication record and conference presentations are a plus

Dr. Chunjiang Zou just joined the School of Civil Engineering, Wuhan University, as a
full professor. Before that, he was a lecturer at Brunel University of London (a
member of the University of London) and a postdoctoral researcher at Monash
University. He obtained his PhD degree from Nanyang Technological University,
Singapore. He is majoring in rock dynamics, non-destructive testing, advanced rock
fracturing techniques, and other fields related to rock and geological engineering.
