If you are interested in working experimentally and making a difference in the areas of materials and manufacturing, we look forward to receiving your application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About the research project\u202f<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The research project focuses on developing and applying cutting-edge microscopy techniques to gain new insights into some of today\u2019s most challenging materials \u2014 in particular, advanced battery materials and solid\u2013liquid interfaces.&nbsp;By combining state-of-the-art instruments such as electron microscopy and atom probe tomography, the project aims to push the limits of characterization at the atomic scale. A key aspect of the work involves developing innovative approaches for handling and analyzing air-sensitive samples.&nbsp;<br>The research is highly relevant for the future of energy storage and green technologies, and you will be part of a vibrant, international team with strong collaborations across disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>Who we are looking for<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>The following requirements are mandatory:<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To qualify for the position of postdoc, you must hold a doctoral degree in materials science, physics, chemistry, nanotechnology, or a related field<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline*.\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with advanced microscopy (for example transmission electron microscopy (TEM), focused ion beam\/scanning electron microscopy (FIB\/SEM), cryogenic electron microscopy, or atom probe tomography (APT))<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will need strong written and verbal communication skills in English\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong analytical skills and the ability to work both independently and in collaboration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You are expected to be somewhat accustomed to teaching, and to demonstrate creativity as well as good potential within research and education.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>*The date on your doctoral degree certificate is considered the official date of completion. Exceptions to the three-year eligibility limit may be made for documented circumstances such as parental leave, sick leave, or military service.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>The following experience will strengthen your application:<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Experience with cryogenic methods, liquid phase electron microscopy, battery materials, and related sample preparation techniques is considered a merit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What you will do<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop and apply advanced microscopy workflows to study battery materials and interfaces.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work with new approaches for preparing and transferring sensitive samples.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to method development for imaging liquids and solid\u2013liquid systems at the nanoscale.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with researchers at Chalmers and beyond, and share knowledge with the wider microscopy community.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Publish and present your findings in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supervise master\u2019s and\/or PhD students to a certain extent and possibility to engage in teaching at undergraduate\/master\u2019s level\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The position is meritorious for future roles in academia, industry, or the public sector.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Contract terms&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The position is a temporary full-time employment for two years with the possibility of a one-year extension.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The position requires physical presence throughout the entire employment.
