Kainulainen). In this project, we combine novel observational data, such as Gaia-based dust density measurements, with advanced modeling techniques developed by our team to investigate the key density statistics across the scales relevant for star formation. These statistics provide unique constraints for current models and theoretical frameworks of star formation.&nbsp;Our research team is active in a number of international collaborations and the position includes ample possibilities for building collaborations and networking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who we are looking for<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with demonstrated skills and experience in:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The fields of star-forming molecular clouds, multi-scale structure of the interstellar medium, and\/or star formation rate models.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working with survey databases, handling large and complex datasets, and integrating data from multiple instruments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Data analysis and programming, including statistical methods, modeling, or related areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A doctoral degree in astronomy or related fields, awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline.*<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You are expected to demonstrate good potential within research and education.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>*The date on your doctoral degree certificate is considered the official date of completion. Exceptions to the three-year eligibility limit may be made for documented circumstances such as parental leave, sick leave, or military service.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What you will do<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Your main responsibilities as a postdoctoral researcher include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Taking a leading role in the project\u00a0<em>\u201cReconstructing the full density structure of the star-forming interstellar medium.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contributing to the further development of the project and its scientific direction based on your own expertise and interests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interacting with the research group members and the scientific environment at the AoP division.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participating in supervision of students if relevant opportunities arise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Building qualifications that will be valuable for future research positions within academia, industry, or the public sector.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Contract terms&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The position is a temporary full-time employment for two years with the possibility of a one-year extension.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The position requires physical presence throughout the entire employment.
