Project title:“Assessing the Hydro-ecological Impacts of Climate-Driven Extreme Events on UK Rivers” (Project ID: IAP-24-115)
Focus: Integrating climate projections, hydrological modelling, extreme value theory and ecological response modelling to assess flood, drought and temperature-spike effects on UK river ecosystems.
What you’ll do:
– Combine large datasets (climate, flow, ecology)
– Calibrate and validate hydrological and hydro-ecological models
– Conduct big data analysis and develop novel data-driven models
– Perform extreme value and uncertainty analyses
– Translate results into actionable insights for policy and management
Skills you’ll gain: Across hydrology, ecology, machine learning, uncertainty quantification, scientific communication and multidisciplinary collaboration.
